Force 50hp 2 Stroke Motor won't START

Help? I am new to the boating environment and just recently bought a 1988 Bayliner Capri boat. It runs with a Force 50hp 2 stroke motor. When I bought it, the seller was able to start it just fine. Took the baby home and took out 2 weeks later to the bay about 5 miles out and it died. We tried to start it back up but it won't not start. It is able to crank up but will not crank up all the way for the baby to start. I am not a mechanic and this is my first time to fix the motor. I noticed that while out in the Bay, it was leaking. I tried to jumpstart it, hoping it was the battery, but it was not. Got towed back to the launch area, because boat would not start. Please help and give some advice. Thank you.

See topic below labeled "Force 50 conks out as thottle increases". This may give you some insight on what you need to do to start your search. But first and most important, never run your boat motor out of the water. That includes using those ear muff things too!

I have the same motor. give us more info did it over heat was your gas fresh or old did you mix the oil right 50-1 how long has it set befor you bought it could be an old impeller what do think Roscoe

Welcome ChrisErrol.<br /><br />What was leaking, gas or water, where?<br />Did it die suddenly, or was it giving you trouble for a while before it died?<br />Did you hear any odd noises?<br />Was there any beeping from the controls or dash area?<br /><br />Start with the most obvious.<br />Check the kill switch on the controls.<br />Check the gas tank, almost empty?<br /><br />Please describe, in detail, your starting procedure, everything you do.<br />Do you know how to activate the choke and advance the throttle without shifting into gear?<br /><br />Ain't boating fun?<br />Well, it will be when you get this fixed.
