I recently bought a bayliner 1990 that has a Force 50 hp from the same year.

Last week I started getting the problem that if I put it in neutral after driving it still moves forward (very slowly).

Now I can't get it into reverse. It just revs like crazy and when I quickly put in back into the neutral position the boat jolts forward slightly and then continues to move forward slightly.

What could be causing this? I have ordered Seloc but I doubt I will get it for another 4-5 days.

There is a shift rod that connects to the lower unit, it may not be adjusted correctly. A little tricky to adjust.

Covered on page 473-474 of Clymer manual.
Not sure about the SELOC MANUAL.
