I have a 1990 Force Motor, and have a problem with the tilt/trim. The pump motor is a later model that had been replaced before I got the boat. I rebuilt the trim cylinder and then filled the unit with 20 WT Motor Oil. I filled it in the "up" position. It works fine with no leak down, but if I go up and down more that 3 or 4 times in a row, the circuit breaker next to the relays under the hood trips. This requires that I thake the hood off and reset it. Should I be using a lighter weight oil? Or, what is the problem?
<br /><br />I wonder if that new trim motor has a higher draw than the old one?<br /><br />You might try replacing the breaker. The more a breaker trips, the less amperage it takes to do it. In other words, a new 50 amp breaker breaks at 50 or 51 amps. If it trips a bunch of times, it may only take 40.
