force 125 one ideals low and one high

hello i have a 22 ft chris craft year 1978 currently running a twin 125hp year 85 one of them ideals high and one ideals low. can you please tell me how to change the ideal. and i am also thinking about changing to a single outboard thinking of puting a 200 hp can some one tell me how big of a job is it removing both outobards and putting on a single one. <br /><br />Thank you for your help,<br /><br />Mody

The idle is adjustable at the cable, where it goes to the carb linkage.<br />Changing out motors of that size is a chore, unless you havew lots of help, or a forklift. Then, there are the old mounting holes thru the transon to deal with.That's not a biggie, but do it right.<br /><br />I've allways been a canidate for twins whenever possible, just for the added insurnce of making a safe port in the event the one engine dies at sea. It's woreth the added expense and lower fuel economy numbers to me.
