Well JB...all due respect but you know what you can do with your Triangle :D Especially the part that starts with a D. I will go out on a limb and predict that the Cats will increase their lead on UNC this year and will leave Chapel Hill on Dec. 7th with a win. I have calmed down a lot in my old age, but I still get crazy about UK basketball. Of course, I am not alone...UK has led the NCAA in attendance every year since Rupp Arena was built & if it were twice the size it is they would still fill it. Go Cats!

Spinner_Bait- I noticed the Grayson & Greenbo Lakes tag...glad to see another fan on here. I boat on Ky. Lake mostly...if you ever get over this way let me know, I have a line on some very reasonable cabins on the lake...private club.

JB...we probably need to stick to fishing/boating topics. I get plumb unreasonable when it comes to basketball...sorry if I offended.

Re: football vs. fishin'

I used to like football and the other sports on TV.
These days I don't get into the Budwieser Football league, the Miller Baseball league, Nike Basketball conference, Marlbaro Raceing, or Don King Boxing cable company.
Not to mention the Pfizer drug company (performance division)Olympic games.

Funny thing, this all came about to get tax payers to pay for all the sports complexes and all the infrastructure and maintenance for these complexes JUST so millionaires can become billionaires. ALL at our expense, whether we use those complexes or not.

I'm begining to think Budweiser uses its total sales in an area. The more beer that is consumed in that area during the football season will be the team that goes to the Superbowl.

Of course, other factors come into play. If a city needs an expansion on their complex or a major Interstate artery is needed, a team would naturally (light)be advanced, at LEAST, into the playoffs. This happens approximately two years prior to the actual asking of the municipality for the funds to proceed.

I sure like the the play by play action of another fish. The early morning rush to the boat launch. The pass of well placed tackle, the wave action of water.
And the scream of the drag.

Down.....readyset...... hup, hup,...........fish!

Re: football vs. fishin'

don't misunderstand me... I would rather be fishin
too, but the season is over here and it's snowing
as I type. see a lot of Packer fans out there.
Farve is a heck of a QB.
JB, I REALLY hate the cowpies (for obvious reasons)
it is a strange season though. every time a team
starts looking like their pulling away, they fall
flat on their face, except the Pack (so far)
my picks in the Stupidbowl: Pack vs. Raiders.

Won't happen for Green Bay. California has been in a drought the past few years. It's been hot and dry and beer consumption is up. So the Raiders have the edge.

No contest Fishing wins hands down. I would even fish during the superbowl. Then agian if I am not playing a sport I find it hard to get behind it like many fans do. I enjoy our teams (high School) home games more than I do Pro Ball because I actually know and interact with the players and coaches on a daily basis. I still would not miss a fishing trip to go to a home game however and they are free for me.

I told you, the Pack could go against a team of grannies dressed in Viking uniforms and lose. Brett seemed to lose his composure today. I have to give the Vikings some credit. They were ready to play and have found a good running game in Bennett. I wish I had been fishing. Got the snow fence up today even though I live in town, I have to prevent the 4 foot drifts from covering my furnace and water heater vents. Got the leaves mulched, lawn mower winterized, the snow blower started second pull. Still need to pull the boat motor into the basement and do some weather stripping, but I think I have most of the winter prep done. I should have done that instead of watching the Packers. going to be a cool one tonight. It is 18 Degrees already.

I couldn't see the Packers today. FOX put a new affiliate in Wausau and they carry the games, but even though they are only 45 miles away, their signal is too weak. Previously the ABC station would pick up the game, but no more.

Pack always loses in the metro dome. When I look at the schedule, I see 1 win aginst the Vikings, and one loss against them.

I see Oakland vs San Francisco in the Boredom Bowl. Kind of like the World too Serious was, all California.

Ya gotta b-e-l-i-e-v-e. Went to the lake on Saturday - in the cold, cold rain. Mrs stayed in the car & read a book. I played cast+slip in the mud for a few hours. (No luck, but better than cleaning the garage!) Sunday was go 9'ers day.
