The flywheel for my 1996 40 HP Evinrude (E40TLEDS) Has a steel sleeve with 2 slots on it to allow the magnetic pulse to go thru to the timer base. This steel sleeve has come loose and spins freely. On the casting of the flywheel are 3 markings: 0 & 1 written in orange and a | (a line) in white about in the center. Flywheel part number is 514548
My question are..
1) Can this sleeve be reattached & how (can it be epoxied or press fit) or will the flywheel just have to just be replaced (it's a $400 part!).
2) How would the slots in the sleeve align in reference to the markings on the casting?
