Hi took our boat some time ago to get the stator replaced. When they pulled the flywheel a couple of the magnents where loose and that is what had damaged the stator. They ordered a flywheel but Mercury is out of stock. My question is can those magnents be glued back in with epoxy? I've done this on lawn mower engines, but nothing running at such high RPM. What does everybody think?

Re: Flywheel Magnenets

My brother has a 1987 OMC that this has happened to twice. Outta desperation and with a family reunion looming, he got a packet of JB WELD epoxy,on the reccomendation
of a pit crew member on a 350CI Pure Stock car.
He glopped them back in place, got a new trigger, and it's still running! That was 3 years ago.
Personally, I think this is "rigging". But then, when the water beckons us, we must answer the call BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE
Also, check-into "MarineTex" two part epoxy.

In one of the worst cases of "rigging" ever, I used JB Weld on the threads of a spark plug that had the been stripped. THe boat ran great for about twenty hours before the plug blew out. When I had a helicoil installed, that cylinder test at 120 psi. I like marine tex, but I think JB Weld is stronger. I bet it would work for you.
