I have a 240 Mercury coupled to a jet drive (Sea Doo Islandia). If it stays in the water after use, what's the proper procedure for flushing? Just run the hose without the motor running? Will running the motor while flushing suck up salt water? It has a hose connection in the engine bay and doesn't use ears like a normal outboard so connecting a hose doesn't block off the water intake.
