When flushing my 200HP Mecury, I have noticed water running out the front of the shaft near the lower mounts.. Is this common and I never noticed it before? Water is running out of the normal ports just fine as well as running out the front of the shaft??? 2nd question I have a 96 200HP with carbs. Can I use DFI 2 stroke systhetic oil?? I have a lot of other issues but will break them up one at a time.

Re: Flushing question

hello, as for the water coming out its hard to sat without seeing it, but I cant think of anyway that it could have a problem cause that, its probly the normal water escaping the housing. as for the DFI oil, to my understanding the DFI oil will not mix with gas. So it is designed to be injected directly into the motor for lubrication. most standard or oil injected engines still mix the oil with the gas at some point before combustion. SO unless someone else responds differently I would have to say absolutly not gonna be a good idea!
Good luck
