flushing manifold & riser

SBC with closed cooling for block only. Can I flush manifold & riser(salt water). Have plastic ell on bottom of manifolds with drain. If possible please explain. Thanks in advance

Not sure where the ell goes, but yeah, throw it on some muffs and run it on the hose. Bravo may have a dedicated flush port, alpha may still need muffs for impeller cooling. I think even alphas with a belt driven pump still sometimes kept the outdrive impeller for outdrive cooling purposes, though IDK if that's always the case. Regardless, you can always run it on muffs.

Running on muffs would also flush the heat exchanger.

If you flush the water side the raw water goes through the heat exchanger and dumps overboard through the manifolds and risers.

do you have a thru hull pick up or does it come through the drive? Is it a slip kept boat or trailer or hoist? If trailer or hoist can flush running on muffs, slip kept stab a flush adapter in the water inlet hose to pump , like this

would be nice if same was available in a metal housing vs plastic …
