This is one of the chemicals in agent orange isn't it?
NO! Of course if you go on some of the wacko websites they may claim it is. They do not apply roundup to the corn fields after the kernels develop. In addition, most corn crops are roundup resistant so roundup wouldn't affect the plant at all.

I didn't say corn, I said wheat, as well as soybeans. sunflowers and more. There is a different chemical used on potato plants before harvest.

yeah you are right about the agent orange thing , that was 2-4-d , not roundup. But I would still rather not have it in my food.

We're still living longer. That gives them more time to introduce more chemicals. Then after we die they pump in more. Then nothing can eat us. Might as well be cremated.

Look it up, there is lots of info about spraying wheat and other crops with roundup and not all crackpot sites

Of course they do..just not late before harvest. That is why they developed roundup resistant crops...so they can spray and it doesn't hurt the crops. If the crops did get affected, they would be down flat on the ground and the crop would be ruined.

Don't mean to be argumentative but the suggested PHI (pre harvest interval ) is 7 to 14 days before harvest. It is used extensively in Canada and is being used in some of the northern states where growing seasons are a little shorter. Look up crop desiccation. The crop doesn't fall down, it dies and dries out evenly.

The article I read said it is hardly ever used in the US , especially not in the Midwest, where the growing season is long enough for crops to dry on their own, but it is used in some circumstances in Canada and Europe where the growing season is a lot shorter...those farmers that replied to that question in the link that Bruce posted were all from the Midwest

A friend of mine is a farmer from Iowa and got a farming degree from Iowa St. He was then a plant breeder for Driscols strawberries developing roundup resistant plants and now works for a Hop grower doing the same. He and the companies he worked for never used roundup close to harvest.
