Whenever possible, I brush my teeth with Fluoride toothpaste 2 or 3 times a day. No cavities since I have gotten older. You're not supposed to swallow the paste but lots of chemicals enter your blood stream through your tongue. What is a good alternative to Fluoride out there? In our water system as well. So many with health problems that have no known source. Like Alzheimer , depression, anxiety etc. The things we use on our bodies and consume every day should be looked at. Just look at all the chemicals in shampoos and soaps. Lots of sodium in toothpaste and soaps. Chemicals can penetrate your skin? You can have an allergic reaction to these chemicals according to Doctors. Chemicals can stimulate your adrenaline. Aluminum in deodorants can't be good. Some are effected and some are not effect. Some do not know they are being effected. Non of this stuff is regulated by the federal government. Some of this stuff is hazardous in large amounts. I think used everyday stuff, could be hazardous to our health.
But when reading up on Fluoride, Dentist say you need to brush your teeth at least 2 times a day with it. What else out there can do the job?

When I had teeth, I used baking soda and didn't have a cavity in over 40 years, I still use Baking soda on my dentures and it keeps them clean and white.

We use non-fluoride stuff by both Tom's of Maine and Jason. We can find both brands in the stores, but it's usually cheaper to order them from Amazon.

Oh yes the aluminium in antiperspirants. That is how they try to stop perspiration by filling the skin pores with aluminum powder. I don't use antiperspirant but use a deodorant. There is a huge difference. Just read the containers to see the differences. Yes, we have no idea what we are doing to our bodies with so many chemicals in seemingly everything. But we do know what smoking does to the body and so many still choose to start these days. Makes me scratch my head in wonderment.

Fluoride is not dangerous. That stuff comes from the same wackos that are anti vaccination.

BTW, water is also dangerous if you drink too much of it. Keep using your Fluoride toothpaste.

Which dentists? The ones paid for an endorsement or the ones who buy it at the supermarket. LOL

Maybe this guy?

Haven't seen Viceroys in years.

BTW - I'm still an unreformed smoker.

Morticians noticed that soldiers that died before the early 50's decayed much more rapidly than those that died during the Vietnam era. Suspicions were preservatives. Then again we're living longer allowing us to do more disgusting things.

I think there are those that believe, those that don't and those that stand around wondering what all the commotion is about while digging and scratching for some kind of perceived relief. :)

Yea we seem to be living longer and therefore many more unique diseases are cropping up because of our longer lives. But then again, we all are not going to live forever and some type disease will get everyone of us. That is a fact. In fact if you really think about it, oxygen is killing us. My proof is, every living thing that breaths oxygen eventually dies. Prove that one wrong.

No, I am not a scientist and I didn't sleep in a Holiday Inn last night either!

I have seen Toms toothpaste at our local health food store. May use that a least one time per day. The Dentist uses baking soda to clean my teeth. One site I found says that Fluoride reacts with the Iodine in the Thyroid. Yea right there on the container is says not to swallow any of the paste. Thanks for all the input!

Both the wife and I have our teeth cleaned every six months. And each time we get flossing picks (we do like them) and a typical tooth brush each. I told them to keep the tooth brushes because we both use electric tooth brushes. She told me to take them anyways to use as cleaning brushes for other things. Go figure.

Yea we have given so many away to charitable places (in the sealed packages still) and still have many in the packages yet ourselves. BUT, they don't work too well in my parts washer. Seem the soft plastic or rubbery parts swell up and come off pretty quickly. But they do make great gun cleaning aids and other brushes for even electronic board cleaning.

Too much or too little of just about everything will kill you eventually. Either way it doesn't matter since you'll die anyway. Think about this: Sodium and Chlorine are 2 very dangerous elements yet they are 2 of the most common ions in your blood serum.

I recently learned that a lot of our crops are sprayed with roundup just before harvesting to kill the plants and make them dry quicker! Apparently nearly all the wheat we use in Canada and the US has residue in it. This is one of the chemicals in agent orange isn't it?
