My take on the 2nd Florida ?Fun in the Sun? gathering. Sorry to all those whom couldn?t make it. You really missed a special time.

After 2 years of trying to get boat running right, finally got to the root of the problem. Stalled under power, ran at idle all day long. Works on a portable tank.
After taking the fuel flow meter, shut off valve and even the fuel-water separator out of the equation. Have had the carb?s cleaned twice, under the cowl fuel lines replaced, new diaphragm in the fuel pump and it still doesn?t work right.
We finally decided Friday Morning to replace all fuel lines. We took the line off the fuel tank and happen to look in the end. 3 inches from the end, there is an obstruction that is like a small flap. Gas flows through at idle and the suction closes the flap at higher RPM?s.
Unbelievable, but did make my weekend much more enjoyable having a working boat. Nieces really enjoyed the boat rides I had to supply all weekend.
Other than the ?No-See-Um?s?, the location is just ideal for boaters. Floating the boat in the canal all weekend, 3 minutes to a good size river that leads to the Gulf, offers all of us some good water to play & fish in. Whether you have an offshore boat or a smaller boat like mine, there is plenty of variety for us.
