Just moved from colorado and finally got the bass boat registered. The problem i have now in florida is the colorado title for the trailer does not show the weight and i cant register it here untill its weighed... first off im guessing i have to take the boat off the trailer to do this and have no idea how to do this other then dumping the boat in a lake and leaving it there. Secondly no idea where to even have it weighed as ive never had to do this before. Any tips or advice would be appriciated!

Unless you need a weight slip from a certified scale, check with the trailer manufacturer for specs. Sometimes that's all you need.

Truck stops, recycle yards and scrap yards can weigh the empty trailer. Let your fingers (or Google) to the walking.

Florida is a pain in the butt when it comes to registering/titling out of state stuff. Once you locate a set of scales (like you might find at a county dump or possibly a truck stop, or possibly a feed/grain store), I would next seek out a cooperative marina that might be willing to give you a hand storing your boat for a few hours. Thankfully it's once and done.

Launch the boat and go fishing/skiing. Have a friend or relative take the trailer to a scale. Almost any place that accepts scrap metal will have one. Unless you have little to no tongue weight, you have to unhitch the trailer.

Put the boat on your lawn, you will be amazed at how easy it is to R&R a boat after the first time.
