Re: Floor fixins
Here's the epoxy resin I use:
Epoxy :?Epoxy Resins and Hardeners
I like the 635 thin with the 3:1 medium hardener for all 'round epoxying in warm weather and the 4:1 fast hardener for cold weather applications (45*F and above).
Like the name says, this is a thin epoxy and is very self leveling. Your boat needs to be level when you apply it to keep the resin from running to one side or puddling in a corner... but since it is self leveling it will take out any imperfections in your decking (dips and pits) and give you a very smooth flat apperance and this is a great benefit for thin painted on finishes.
You want a good as you can get sub finish on your decking when using the thin paint on finishes like gel coat, paint, and marine bed liner products. If your deck looks like ca-ca doody before you put your finish down, it going to look like ca-ca doody smeared with whatever finish you apply. So you want to smooth out and fill any imperfections before the final finish.
