I am putting down Nautalex and need to fair some of the seams and screw heads. Can I use something like Bondo or some other polyester filler? I was going to use Marine Tex but that being an epoxy base and some say not to put epoxy on polyester. Also there is a big price difference between the two. Anything else I could use to fair or do it different? Thanks

NO Bondo, it absorbs water...
Epoxy over poly OK, not the other way around...Especially if you are going to be laying down some Marine Carpet adhesive for the Nautolex...
Make sure you use some kind of reinforcing cloth on your seams, not just a fairing compound...just like doing the seams in drywall...
If you can get some Micro-ballons and a little cabosil to mix with your poly, that makes a great filling/ fairing compound that is fairly easy to sand smooth...use some CSM to bridge any seam gaps and give strength to the mayonnaise-like resin putty...

Here is the recipe from my good buddy 'Woodonglass"... 1/2 pint of resin use a tablespoon of cabosil and the rest of glass bubbles till it's like mayonnaise.
