Flex in sides of boat?

Ok on my 16ft flats boat I noticed that there is a considerable amount of flex in the sides of the boat. The bottom is rock solid but if you lean into the top sides you can flex the sides of the boat in and out? Is this normal? Or should I brace it up a little.

Yes I did but I am still not sure... Because his boat his stripped down to the hull , mine is not.
