I have a flag that came with a pole, but I attached the flag to the tower. I like it to be on the highest point of my boat. The flag and pole came from Academy in a kit. The pole goes into light socket at stern of boat.
We have the taylor made pontoon flag kit. Pretty nice rig. It allows you to mount the base anywhere and take the flag in and out easily. It is only rated to I think 30 mph so we have it in when coming into marinas or are anchored out somewhere. If you want a flag pole that is rated at higher speeds then its going to cost you. You'll need the heavy duty stainless base and pole which is at least a hundred or so dollars.
