I'm working on a 74 Bellboy, fixing it up to fish out of this summer. I pulled the rotten old seat boxes out today, and pressure washed the inside. There is the remnant of old, brown floor paint, especially under where the seats were and where it didn't get walked on. I was thinking I would strip the old paint off and repaint it with some non-skid Kel-Kote.
But the pressure washer didn't take it all off, and there is a lot left that is too tightly adhered for the pressure washer, but probably too loose to paint over successfully. How would I go about getting rid of the rest of this, that doesn't leave me with a giant, toxic mess to clean up? I have an angle grinder that I can put sanding wheels or wire brush on, and was thinking of going at it with the wire brush on the grinder. Any other, better ideas?
Thanks!
