Hi,
We bought a 1994 Four Winns last fall. I've done a lot of work over the winter (re-sealed, stripped, & painted the outdrive, repaired/replaced vinyl on some seats, built new subwoof box, etc). The boat is looking great with exception to a couple problem areas in the gelcoat. There is a foot-long, 1/8" wide gouge in the teal colored gelcoat on the exterior starboard side of the boat. It's deep enough that the glass is clearly visible. There is also a section about 4" long and 1/2" wide on the front, leading edge of the boat where the teal gelcoat is missing (probably from rubbing up against a dock or something).
My question is this: how close of a match do you think I can get by using one of those mix-your-own color gelcoat kits? Or does anybody have any other suggestions? I've tried spectrumcolor.com, but they don't have that color in anything smaller than a gallon ($$$).
Thanks
