Fixing cracked exhaust manifold on Ford 2.3? need help

I looked at an 89 Bayliner with the 2.3 ford motor. The owner says it has a cracked exhaust manifold. He says he took it out on the lake and it idles fine and will rev up in neutral but when you put it in drive it bogs out.

I am a newbie when it comes to boats and i need to know if i can just weld the crack or if I should just buy new manifolds and risers. I need any info on fixing this problem. maybe good website for the manifold parts and info. I have read that it would be better to get new parts then welding the current and risking further problems down the road.

Any info helps a ton. Thanks guys

If you havent bought it yet, dont. You wont be able to find anything new for that TKO. Obsolete.

If the exhast manifold leaks, has a crack
You will have water in the bilge, or in your motor.
Welding is not a smart thing to do with theese!!!!

I don't think you can buy a manifold for that engine.

The problem here is that the manifold will cost about 5 times more than the boat is worth!!

My suggestion is to just keep looking for a boat if you're in the market. Maybe stay away from boats that have OMC anywhere in the description......
