I have a 1985 mercury 90 hp inline 6 on a 87 Sportcraft cc and I have a slow leak that appears to be coming from the top of the cylinder, I found a broken metal ring/seal sitting on top.
I can not manually push on the motor down and have it move or hear any hissing or see bubbles so leak doesn't seem too bad but motor trims down by itself over an hour or 2 period of time.
My question is I found a CMC pt-130 with gauge, switch an all wiring for $300. It is the new style with squire looking actuator also.
So should I go for the CMC t/t or better off fixing the factory one? I heard the cylinder seals can be fixed with motor still mounted...
The factory tilt trim is in decent condition with minimal rust on top of the pump motor but rest is clean.
