Just saw a 9.9 Johnson assembly video.----Presenter torqued all the crankcase screws.----Last step was to pound in the tapered locating dowel.------I thought main screws were snugged up then the dowel to locate the precision parts.----Then torque the screws with everything lined up like it came from factory.

Twice I've had folks balk at my price saying "but I saw it on you tube and it's simple to do!"

in addition to the erroneous information. I find it odd that they talk for 10 minutes about nothing before getting to the repair/mod/etc. by then, I have downloaded the manual, read it, understood it and work on the repair.

Saw the same the same feller apply plenty of gasket sealer on the intake gaskets.-----He likely blocked off the oil recirculation channel.---I doubt he even knew the channel was there.------If a little bit of sealer is good , then lots must be better.----What a joke !!!
