Re: Fishing License in NY

When I head back home (Williamsville, NY) I'll see if I can get mom to get out the photo box. The whole family still lives up there. In fact my sister does a lot of work out of Rochester. She's with California closets. A good fisher woman also. I moved to just outside of Philly. Not to my liking but the work is good. Got to love the NY Lifetime Sportsman license program. We all have them. I will be getting my son his for his birthday in a couple of months. He's thinking about going to RIT just so we can spend more time in the western NY outdoors.

Scipper - Yes I guess that was misleading. What I meant was they are a bunch of good guys & not stuck up male sex organs. They have different outlooks on their jobs. They don't operate on a "quota" system. They're actually willing to talk "to" people not "at" people. Everyone of them that I've ever met cares about our environment, wildlife, hunting & fishing. Yes, they actually do have more authority than any of the law enforcement agencies in NYS. They do not need a search warrant to stop & search your vehicle (car or boat) or property. Not often, but ocassionally, you'll see them at state police checkpoints. Trooper can't make you open your trunk but CO can if he wants to check for illegal transport of firewood, 1 fish over limit, an untagged deer, etc. And I say more power to them. I've never heard of them abusing the authority.
