Man, watching all this fishin on tv got me going crazy. Every year when the bassmaster classic comes around, my cabin fever kicked in really high gear. Makes me want to just sell it all and go on tour.

I got the itch too. Can't wait for the ice to melt!!! Sadly, we're under a winter storm watch right now. :(

I got it too. In the last month I've spent $600+ on new tackle and a fish finder. Been out every weekend for the last 4. I've abandoned my sports car hobby. :( ....:)

I just got more into fishing in the past year or two. My previous boat was a closed bow and definitely not the optimal setup for it. I can't wait to get out there in my new rig which will have bow and stern casting decks and chairs and a foot controlled bow-mount trolling motor. Gonna be awesome.

Buying a boat at BassPro is rarely a good idea

Depends... If one has the coin for a new boat, and you are an educated consumer re: price and accesories, and BP or Cabellas has a boat you want at the right price...

I was at Cabellas in Hartford, CN on friday. Looked at a boat- $32999 list. Salesman walks over...I tell him I am not a customer- I am not buying, just educating myself (research for my 19' Starcraft refit this spring :D LOL) and he keeps talking... He got down to $28999 without me responding positively even once. Funny

I'm in the same "boat" as Socal, I have a race/street car that has been in my family for over 25 years and it just sits there, wanting to be used. I'd love to use it more often but I went and got hooked on fishing. Can't wait for the ice to melt!!

The problem is the boats they sell there are not quality boats and I've heard horror stories about the service after the sale.

Nope. But I have read about more than enough of them in my 3 years on here.

Well, I don't know anything about Tahoe but do know those aluminum tracker boats that Socal Pat was talking about are hardly "low quality".

I have been feeding the fever all winter with getting back to some lure making. Started out with powder painting, and jig skirts. Moved on to spinner baits, and even pouring some plastic baits, and mold making. I got another month or so, before I can give it a true scratch, with real relief.

My son just scratched his itch, yesterday. He, along with a friend, did a bass guide trip in the everglades. They caught 175+ bass, but largest was only about 4-5lbs. He said there were lots of gators that were looking for bass hand outs!
