I'm looking to purchase a entry level fish finder/ chart plotter. I'm looking at spending about 350.00. I looked at a Humminbird 383c today that costs 299 on clearance at a local store. Any suggestions on what I should consider?

Re: Fishfinder

Humminbird is a good brand with a fairly good reputation. the price sounds good, but does it have the features you want? if you want one with a certain feature like GPS or side scan or whatever, and this one does not have it, you will always wish you would have looked a little longer.

determine which features are most important to you, then do some research and find the one that best fits your wants and needs. and always find out about the warranty, it can pay off. some warranties are more comprehensive if the unit is installed by an installer who is Factory Certified.
