Hey guys,

I'm about to wire my boat, but have a question about running the transducer cable. I believe I've heard before that it can cause interferance with the Fish Finder if you run the transducer cable with any of the boats electrical wires? Is this true...I can't seem to confirm or deny it right now. It would be nice to run everything on one side of the boat, but I don't want to do that if it will cause issues.

thanks for you help

In general, keeping them separate is by far the best idea. I do run mine down the same side of the boat, but the trolling motor runs elsewhere. Mine do actually run rather close to the other wiring, but in separate sets of wires. I twisted the power wires for the FF together. (This will help to reduce noise pickup.) Also, I ran the FF wires all the way back to the battery with a separate fuse at the battery. The only power switch on mine is the one on the unit itself. I have no issues on mine. BTW, mine is a humminbird 597 DI and it is a transom mount.

So you would try to keep the transducer cable away from all the other wiring, including the FF power cable?

Thanks for you help.
