Am ready to make a offer on a boat that has a 2006 Yamaha 150hp four stroke. Am a newbie so bear with me :)
One owner boat , 32 hours on the moter ( Yamaha 150hp 4-stroke) , but no maintance records. Dealer does not know if the moter ever had the break-in maintance performed and stated that he does not think the owners would have any records or be able to remember.
The computer check shows 11 of the 32 hours were ran at 1000 rpm , 14 hrs at 2000 rpm , the owners were very elder and could not swim (lol) so were afraid to go "to fast". I have water tested the boat / moter for 1.5 hrs and it ran fine at all rpms and speeds.

My questions are:
Has the manner that this moter been ran affected the long term life of it?
Which type of maintance ( 10 hr , 20hr , 100 hr , etc) should I get the dealer to perform and what is the approx cost of this service?

Thanks for all replys

Welcome to iboats, Para. This sounds like the marine version of a car owned by the little old lady from Pasdena. LOL The answers to all your questions are right at the dealer. Other than oil change (motor and lower unit), impeller and a general tune-up you should be fine. Go have fun,
