Re: First time boat buyer..... Help!!
Oh, I'm definetly going to keep looking. If was just me and my wife, I would probably look for a boat with a Cuddy, but with the two kids, I think an open bow would be fun. I'm still looking for an 18ft. Found a lot of 16 and 17 footers but not looking at those. I may have to expect to spend a little bit more than $5500 that I had budget for the boat. I can find lots of great boats in the upper $9000 range. When I was car shopping for my 16yr old daughter, my budget was $5000. Was I in for a shocker. I ended up spending $8500 and got her a great car. So, I look online every evening, and I'll okay it by ear if I need to raise my price to meet my expectations. And as far as the Celebrity that I went and looked at yesterday, the one that was $7500 and I had nogotieated down to $5400. Well it's now on Craigslist for $5500 or best offer. It could probably be bought for 2500, and put $2500 into it for new non molded interior and have a great boat. Lots of options!
