i have recently restored my transom on my 66' Searay.in doing so the only step left is painting.after reattaching the fiberglass skin,i applied one coat of "Evercoat Onestep Gel-kote.in doing so,i find you have limited time in painting due to having to add the hardener.i have already sanded the first coat....my question is,instead of reapplying a second coat can i use "Interlux Brightside" (which i have)?my boat is trailered and does stay in the water all season.any info would

Re: finisjing touches

You can use Brightside, it is rather soft and can be scratched easily compared to pricier two part paints though.

You wouldn't want to use the Onestep version of the gel coat, it has wax in it, which needs to be sanded off before another coat can be applied if it's allowed to harden.
