Started Friday, sanded entire bottom of boat and up to the water line on the sides. Put 2 coats of Pettit Protect epoxy to seal the bottom, then 2 coats of Pettit Vivid paint. After doing this, I would have gladly paid someone else to do all the work. 90 degrees working on asphalt is no fun. It looks nice with the blue bottom paint. Hopefully it will work well on the Ohio River. I see a couple touch up places I need to hit before I drop the boat in the slip for summer.

Ron, that is a good looking paint job. It appears that the barrier coat did not go to the waterline. I would monitor the boat for blisters in that area. Also, does Pettit only recommend 2 coats of the barrior paint? I had thought it was more coats.

I only put the barrier coat on the bottom, the only blisters with very tiny pimple size at the very bottom and not very many of those. The rep at Pettit said 2 coats are enough to seal it. Hopefully he is right.. Can't wait to see how this holds up for the season.
