Hi all,
I bought this bought in 2002, with a 5hp sea king and homemade trailer, for $100 in labor.
Has been a row boat until lake travis filled up again. It was a casual sale and I am now dancing with Texas Parks and Wildlife, trying to title the boat and motor, and get a valid sticker for the boat.
I just paid them $25 today, in person, to get a game warden to come out and inspect the boat for a serial number.
On various forums I have seen info on numbers punched into the aluminum at the transom top. Aside from that, anyone have any ideas where to look? I rather not have to pay the $25.

Thanks!
See my other posts on rehabbing the '62 sea king 5hp it came with, and the almost like new, sweet '54 evinrude 15hp I just bought, with tank, to push the boat.

Chuck in Austin, where it was 107 today.

Typically the HIN is on the transom starboard on the older Lonestar boats

I saw that on other posts. It's bare metal mostly there, but no number.
The transom looks modified; it may be gone.
Oh well.

Thanks all the same!

It looks like a King Commander, I have a very similar boat from Lonestar, called Commander, mine does not have a number as well. Mine has never been modded.

Thanks for the info. Do you have any idea what the diff is between a Commander and King Commander?
As it happens, I was looking at a yahoo forum for lone star boats. I saw a brochure for 54-55 model commanders, which look alot like mine. The bench seats with hand holds on each side and flotation under each. The brochure showed the boats with 2 seats, while mine has 3.
Here's a pic. It goes on saw horses this winter for a polish and paint.

Ok, the King Commander has a bit more bow covering, than the Commander, I will get pics posted soon of mine. The old brochure photos I found show those two boats a bit different than ours. Mine is possibly a fist model Commander. My transom gap is wider than yours, the hand holds are rolled sheet, and the seats, floor/seat anchors, and flotation tanks are the same. Oh and all the chine strips are broke twice (not the center one, its fine) and the splash strips are ok. Turns out the previous owner built a new trailer for it, the 2" schedule 40 pipe the tongue is made of (the whole frame is pipe btw) the tongue is way to flexible and the boat being strapped down hard to it did it. But I assume the trailer got wrecked and they obviously salvaged the springs, wheels, hubs, fenders, and hitch. I found original brochure trailer pics on Google Images.

Now you have me curious about my trailer. Mine is also made of welded pipe, with springs, little shock absorbers, fenders, and auto passenger 15" tires. I thought it was hand made. It seems way overbuilt for my little boat.
I've had the boat and trailer 8 yrs and kept it on a friend's property on Lake Travis. Never registered the trailer or really looked at it til recently. It would be great if it was the original trailer.
