Hello Bond-O , It'not that I haven't cast some alum. parts before but bronze is a little tricky,(been building custom Harley parts before Jessie James was 5 yrs old)But some possible salvage yards or the like would be cool if anybody knows of any.Sorry about the spelling errors as I hate typing (old school guy). Will try harder next time !

Ayuh,.... I'd think the stuff yer lookin' for would be specfic to Inboard boats in general, Vs. Just Luhrs boats...
Donno, I don't mess with inboards all that often...
Ya might wanta open the scope of yer searches...

Also, is this something that could be fabbed, 'n welded outa SSteel,..??
Just thinkin' out loud.....

Nothing special about the rudder on a '69 Luhrs. Pretty much anything off an inboard of about that size with the right size rudderpost will work (w/ no bottom skeg support). Of cours, if you have twin screw & are looking for just one side you may have a bit of trouble, I'd probably look for a matched set & swap out both sides.

Thanks gentelmen, nope its a single screw and does have to protrude from hull approx 3".Bond-o . yes I though about SS but I cant seem to make friends with a machine shop here that can work off drawings,(spent three & half years @ collage learning how to draw prints of anything )But there is a shortage of machinists here. OK , smart ones !! Wish I still had my contacts in Florida where I'm from , and going back to in a few years.

Call General Propeller in Palmetto FL. They made many of the original parts for Luhrs. If not they will point you the right way.
