Re: Finally Took The Plunge, Thank to You Guys

Cant beleive I missed this..
Congratz on a great looking project, I may just concede that the SS ARE the #1 resto Starcraft on here..(I said MAY..lol)

Welcome to the insanity!

If you look at it, it's very close. Mine is actually an Offshore and not an SS. They did make an SS that year (1971) but it only went to 16'.Pull mine out and there is only a 2 boat lead for the Sports. Surely you can scare up a couple of Holidays.

Add the Offshore to the poll, there's at least 1 more in here and move mine over.

I wonder what the difference in Outboards to Inboards is?

Updated my Resto thread today from the weekend, pics are there. Got her all sanded down. Scored some really cool Starcraft seats on EBAY, 3 of them for $210 delivered. Also lucked into a complete no feedback steering system for $110 delivered, Uflex Accura. Really gettin stoked now, I just hope my paint goes on as smooth as EZ's!;) Got parts sittin everywhere and just had to order springs for the trailer, as the othere are rusted really bad. Still reading everyone's threads to make sure I am doing everything right, If someone sees something I am doing wrong please sing out!

Ok..you said to "sing out"..

Those SC seats will not work on your project.
I'd be happy to PM you my corp Fed Ex shipping number and will find a use for them somewhere...somehow

AWESOME SEATS

 LOL! Thanks Kev, I bet I looked at over a 1000 posts on ebay before these popped up witha buy it now, I bought them less than a minute after they were posted.

I do have a question for anybody. I am having to replace the bow rail, as the other one was missing and I think they just look cool. I ordered all the parts, but the rail will need to be bent. What will be the easiest way to do this?

Thanks,
Darren

Best advice I got on rails..
Is you can tape off an end..fill it with sand..then tape off the other end..
Then you can use a conduit or pipe bender without crushing the tubes..(because of the sand)

Thanks Kev. Now all I need to do is borrow the pipe bender from work and I'll be all set. I will let you know how it worked out.

Hey guys I finally made it back, as you will see in my resto update, my daughter was involved in car wreck two weeks ago and it slowed things around here a little. She is fine, already has her staples out and her forehead abrasion is almost gone. Did get a chance to read some of your posts, you guys are way ahead of me now, so I gotta get in gear. I did find some old cypress lying in the wood pile and we cut out my dash and "keystone" from it and it is all epoxied and ready to go. Tell me what ya think, kinda reminded me of the old **** Pope Ski's. I will tey and post quicker as my progress should pick up now. thanls again for all your help!
