While removing the flotation foam a smell of old fuel started to come out and got worse. As it turned out, the fuel filler hose on my 1984 Islander had sprung a leak and the fuel had seeped into the flotation foam, effectively turning my boat into potential fire bomb.
I suspect that pre ethanol fuel filler hoses are being eaten up by the alcohol in modern fuel.
I would strongly suggest that boaters check their pre ethanol fuel lines .By the way,I found that the I-boats fuel line price is way cheaper than anything else I looked at.
