Hey Benny,Good to see ya man!

My tank is about 14 inches deep about 36 inches wide and very long.
If i end up replacing it i'm going with the Moeller tank...plastic will never corrode...;)

Thanks for the offer though Benny,I'm keeping my fingers crossed its a fill hose..
I will get into it this week sometime and see whats up.
Rain today and i'm being a couch potato...:p

Have a good one!

probably not your problem, but when I first got my Searay (used) every once in awhile I would get a strong whiff of raw gas. The tank is under the front decking and real accessible so could not see any leaks and it was driving me nuts. Then I realized the vent it just forward of the drivers seat on the side. Every once in awhile when the wind blew just right I could smell it.

Whatever you do Gary, just make sure you don't use a match to look in that dark corner next to the tank!!! LOL! Just joking neighbor! Hope you find it and is an easy fix.

Don't forget to check the circular gasket under the cover for the gas gauge sending unit, they dry out and can seep just enough gas to make an oder. My original one was all dried out after 20 years or so....I still have the original tank so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I had it out when we had the stringers repaired and I replaced the deck in 2005-2006 and it looked good then. I'm not so sure I'd go with a poly tank, they are corrsion proof, sure but I think it's harder to properly secure them compared to a aluminum tank with mounting tabs welded to it. My tank in the 88 4 Winns has the 4 mounting tabs and I have two 3/4 in thick strips of mahogany that are mounted to the main stringers that the tabs are screwed into. Very solid mounting system. With the plastic tanks you have to use straps or brackets and to me it never looks as well secured.
