I have a screwhole that has become too big for the screw. I want to fill it, drill it and screw in a new fastener. Which product on the market is best to use for this issue? Do not want to invest in resin, filler or anything else that I will have no other use for. Looking for a simple low cost solution.

Marine-Tex 2-part epoxy paste would also work, though I recently found out (on this forum) about a far lower-cost sustitute called PC-11. Found it for about $5 for a 2oz kit at True Value (I hear that Home Depot, Ace, Lowe's also might carry it).

PC Epoxy

I like that kind of stuff because it's useful for all sorts of filling, fairing, crack and chip filling, etc. jobs, both on horizontal and vertical surfaces, on the boat and around the house.

I vote for PC-11 as well. Have used it for 2 years and it's great stuff.

Awsome i was looking at finding away to get around the high price Marine Tex + shipping and the wait time. Glad you guys posted this gonna check the local lowes/homedept/TrueValue . In the middle of repairing the bilge drain and hull drain in my 1966 MFG beachcomber and some screw holes in the Transom.

The 3m 5200 in the 10 oz tube is kinda hard to come by around here for some reason. But i think homedepot has the 3oz tubes .

Putting my boat back on the water Friday 1:30PM after 3years! it feels great to have it back :)

Just remember that the PC-11 is epoxy based and gelcoat and or poly resin will not adhere to it well.
