ficht 200hp converting to carb 225 hp powerhead

i have a 2000 200 hp ficht that is blown up rod trough block i was told i could replace with a carb powerhead and do away with fuel injection is this posible the other powerhead is a 225 hp 1996 carb omc

I do not think that the shift rods or drive shaft are the same.not sure about the lower engine case...why not just get a complete used motor and sell yours for parts..should be worth $500 or so..a 1996 carbbed 225 should be around $1500-2500 in good running condition.

i can get the 225 hp complete powerhead very cheap i was just seeing if any one here had done this before i had 2 shops in central florida tell me it would bolt right in just checking before buy i the powerhead

If it is a complete running powerhead yes it will bolt on with no problems as 1996 carb is system check compatable with deutsch connector harness.

that is a good thing to know..with all the different drive shafts and shift rods, I am surprised that the ficht used the same....would it matter if the 1996 power head was a 90 degree or a 60 degree??? I think that I cannot swap gear cases in these motors.

the powerhead is a 1996 90 degree looper i was told that the ficht was built off the same block
