howdy all.
Here in the UK and need to repaint the top section of my boat as its a terrible colour and has a rough surface.
I have seen flow coat and gelcoat advertised here.
Does anybody know if these are the right thing to paint the top of the boat with?
i think gelcoat is the tougher one.

also, i want to hide the existing colour - yellow/green with a top coat of white.
will painting over it with 2 or 3 layers of white hide it?

Moved this over to Restoration. You'll get a more focused answer here. Good luck!

Looks like everybody ignored you.

Never heard of Flowcoat.
But after reading about it I don't think it is paint.
I think it is closer to a gel coat resin formulated for brushing.
It says to thin it add resin.
So I don't think it is paint.
Standard old marine paint would be the easiest to apply I would think.

To hide anything under a paint job will require some preperation.
That would include sanding, filling, priming, etc. of varying degrees.
Whole books are written on the subject.
