I've used Synergistecs 240 on my Tracker. Works great and has lasted a long time. I bought at Bass Pro. Think a pail was $20.

I have done several boats and always used ADAP outdoor carpet adhesive. Currently about $16 a gallon. Very manageable and the carpet will not lift no matter what. This is not wimpy kids stuff. Cleans up with spirits very easily.

Try the Home Despot or Lowe's/ They have outdoor carpet adhesive in oil and latex. I chose the oil based

To answer the question....NO do not use fiberglass resin as an adhesive for carpet.

I personally have used 6700 indoor outdoor carpet adhesive that I purchased at my local HD but, just be sure to pick up a few disposable notched trowels and spread it out per the directions.

My apologies Vogues. The product is APAC 630 Outsider 2, made by All Purpose Adhesive Company Dalton Georgia 1-800-747-2722. Google APAC Adhesive.

Hi Silvertip. The original post asked for something good. Low odor mineral spirits will soften it but it will crack off with a scraper.

Second the 6700 outdoor carpet adhesive from HD. Have used it on two boats now with great success. Used properly, that carpet will be there for a LONG time. Once the glue sets, it is virtually permanent. If you happen to get some on the carpet or your clothes, get it off right away with some warm water and soap or it will be there forever.

I use the same glue for glueing carpet on the trailer bunks. Never had it come off.

agree with that above do NOT use epoxy resin, if you ever have to remove the carpet you will have to use an air chisel to get it out. Better yet, ditch the carpet, get the deck gelcoated and enjoy less of a chance of rot....

If you use APAC it will stay down and stay in place as you work.

Third the 6700 from Home Depot. That stuff is TOUGH. When I carpeted my bow deck with it I messed up the size of my hatches. I needed to trim them down a little bit. I thought, "hey I'll just unstaple the carpet and peel it back a little bit and trim the wood and then restaple." WRONG. The carpet wouldn't budge at all. Ended up having to remake the hatches completely. So maybe it's TOO good? :p

Not sure what the blue product is. Maybe solvent based? Only one I've seen/used is in the green packaging and it is water based.
