Re: fiberglass cloth question?

You are going to want 10oz cloth for most of it. It works great for the large areas and wets out really good. If you are going to use woven use it for the areas you need extra strength such as the joints where the stringers meet the hull. I am in the middle of the same project on my boat. I used 1.5oz stand matt to add strength to all the joints in mine. There is a sticky at the top of the resto forum that has all kinds of fiber glass tips in it. You should take a look and see if you get a better Idea of what you need.
Just an added tip, you can get all your fiberglass stuff ordered off line and save a ton of money. I got mine from fiberglasssite.com, it was delivered fast and had everything i needed, but i got 25yrds of each kind so it made a big differance in cost getting it on line rather then off the self.

post the photos and let us see what your dealing with!

Re: fiberglass cloth question?

On my 20' center console I used 2 oz mat and 10 oz cloth for everything , with polyester resin. Use the mat for a first layer foundation then cloth.
