The wood will suck the resin out of the cloth, best case when it cures you'll have dry spots that need to be fixed, worst case you will have almost no bond to the wood and need to do the whole thing again. Wet out the wood and let the resin soak in and at least start to cure.

Where'd you get a sheet of plywood that was 6 x 10, TG?

For applying the resin, go to Home Depot and get a 9" paint roll that is made specifically for resins and adhesives. I even band sawed some of those rolls in half to use on my 4" trim roller. The 4" is a good size when you are doing other than full sheets.

I would also thin the resin(epoxy) with 15% Xylene. Also keep your sheets out in the sun. A combination will give you the best penetration and the best rot protection possible.

ps, It may take longer to cure, having added xylene, but you may be able to lay your cloth and wet it out before the first application fully cures. Most of it would have sunk in anyway.

Had to cut up a couple 4x8 to get that 6x10, they do sell very large sheets of marine plywood out here, at very high pricing.

 However i have gigwamped my floor a bit. Dunno how i did this but i built a wave in the floor and fully supported by foam. One starts in the rear corner, in a length of 4 feet it dips almost a 1/4 inch, On the other side the foam raised the floor 1/4 of a inch again over a 5 foor area.

Man this is dissapointing, tried to do to much to fast all at once, the floor is sully supported by 8 lb faom and glassed in all the way around will this wave create problems with the hull?

Perhaps you can "work-out" some of those waves with the glass and mat. Are we ever going to see pictures of this complete overhaul???

Yea, yea, yea I saw the award winning two color set up and my raggedy seats are in route to your attention...in the meantime we want to see some 8lb foam and epoxy! I'm bumming to much to write my next thread. Building up to the inevitable, found some transom rot at the bottom of the outdrive. I NEED the motivation to fix it!

The hair dryer heats the air temp and the hull temp above 80 which is critical. The hotter the better.
