Re: feedback on aftermarket SE106 sterndrives

We are working on an OMC sterndrive solution that will be available spring of 2009. It involves proprietary technology and an acquisition that we are making, so I really cannot go into any details at this time.

Re: feedback on aftermarket SE106 sterndrives

Yes , I have been running an sei drive four years now , 460 hrs , and yes its not a mercruiser , actually it has been better than the merc has ever been . shifting is quieter , and operation is quieter ,and after the 10 hr oil change it has been great. Sei has the the solution to replacement drives hands down ...

that was another concern of mine[shifting] will unit bolt right up and will i have to mess with shift cable and the shifting paw coming out of bell hsning? thanks ken

its now 2011
twin omc sterndrives on a searay 270 / 1988
spent a grand evaluating drives this winter
both of them need lots work
estimates around 8 grand
I,m just not going to do it any more...why continue to pay out so much money for old or rebuilt hardware...
I am gonna by sei drives and look forward to them. I think SEI has a great idea and i for one am going to give them credit for solving an neverending problem!
i cant even guess at what ive spent on drives in 30 years.
And they put there money where there mouth is with the 3 year warranty.
Now ...to explain this to the better half...aaaaaa
