Family fun boat

Gang,
I'm a first timer and I'm debating a pontoon verses a deck boat. we will keep it 3 hours away and I want to leave it in the water. Can you leave boats in the water year round in lakes that don't freeze over (Tennessee)? Or is the best thing to do is get a pontoon and avoid the situation?

Either style can be left in the water. The pontoon won't likely need a bilge pump but the deck boat definitely will. If you don't have shore power you'll need to determine how you will ensure keeping the battery charged to operate the pump. Keep either covered to keep bird poo and other stuff to a minimum.
