It's hard to think about fall, it's still 95 degrees here. However, I thought we could share some fall favorites.
One of mine is "Hunter Bean Stew".
One warning, keep the "Beano" handy.
1. Saute' one large yellow (sweet) onion in olive oil until carmelized. Set aside.
2. Fry one half pound ground beef and one half pound ground turkey, season to taste.
3. Combine the meat and onions in a crock pot.
4. Add beans. I use: 15 Ounce cans-DRAINED.
-1 can black beans.
-2 cans of Bush's baked beans.
-2 cans Navy beans. Butter beans are a substitute.
5. Add: 4 to 5 tablespoons of brown sugar to taste.
6. Let slow cook all day.
If you like your beans to bite back, throw in a little jalepeno.
Enjoy.
