Boat pricing is a bit out of wack at the current moment. The nada guides also seem off as they are apprasing the boat for more than what he paid for his 2010 Regal 2300¹ a decade ago. My old man is thinking of getting rid of it and their lake house as my siblings don't use it enough for the maintenance they put in. I am the only one who would, but live 1200 miles away. I told him he could keep it up here and would get more use out of it when he visits, he laughed and said good try. Though he is interested in selling it to me at a discount. I was initially thinking 30k or something. It would stay in the family and he would use it more up here when he visits.

I was initially looking at buying a new Four Winns HD2 OB to replace my 19' cuddy, which is getting to small, though this might be a little better.

From your dad? Work it out....tis family...well maybe that'll work...

Pricing is completely out of whack right now with people doing some really silly stuff. But that also means on new you're probably waiting until Spring 2022 if you order now whereas you could be using the Regal now...possibly into October or later depending on your locale.

Unless one is really desperate to go boating, this is just a horrible time to buy a boat. Prices are insane. I bet if you'd wait two years, you could get twice the boat for the same money.

Yeah, the pricing on everything is nuts.
Have you looked at used pickup trucks? They are priced at what a new one used to cost and the new ones are $60k-$70k. Insane.

I looked up my 2003, 185 bow rider on Nada and it's priced at nearly what I paid for it (used) 8 years ago!

Same with houses. My friend sold his house in NJ. It sold in two days. He had to get out...quick!
There was a bidding war and he sold it for $40,000 over what he was asking!

Guess what happens when the bottom falls out of the housing market & people are underwater on their mortgages. It'll be 2008 all over again because people never learn.
