What is good/safe guage metal to use for a fuel tank ? aluminum

Can I get a universal fuel tank sending unit & dash guage come as a set ?

Is there a set of schematics (drawings) the show the piping & wiring for a DYI fuel tank installation ?

yes that is good stuff, and a possible option. I am wanting to fab a tank for an existing frame work. We'll see how it goes

Thanks

Are you going to build this tank yourself?
If so, you should use alumium for the tank. Can you weld aluminum?

I am sure you can find the right sending unit and guage here on i-boats.

I would take a close look at the link that GT1M sent you and check out how the aluminum tanks or built and what guage of aluminum they use and the hardness grade that is used. Also check out how the fittings or placed.

You or saying you need a custom made tank and it is really hard to say how to build one without seeing what is needed.
Post some pics so the good people here can have a ideal of what you need.

Welcome to i-boats

I looked through the post, and I like the Moeller products, there is some useful information on how to plumb fuel supply /vent lines. As far as I know they only do poly tanks. In my past I have fabricated plastic tanks for acids used in HI-Tech industry, I don’t have access to this equipment anymore, wish I did I could build some cool stuff.

I am considering building my tank out of .15” SB209 aluminum, I would spool gun this. Does anyone know do these small tanks require baffles ?

The question I am having about an aftermarket sender for use on a fabed tank, is can they be calibrated for any size of tank ? probably yes
