Well, since last showing you the 1975 F100 I bought, this is what we have done to date over past 4 weeks.
1st photo is yesterday. Should have the deck removed today to do behind the cab.
2nd photo is the diesel. Yes Aldo, considered replacing it with a 351 Cleveland, but decided for the sake of a new starter motor, will run it as is. It will be economical, and that could be an issue if gas goes to $100/barrel this year. Can always change quickly/easily in future. Will see how things pan out.
3rd photo is as-it-was 4 weeks back.

Still havn't decided on final paint job. Have spent probably 20hr week looking thru web for ideas. (seen everything on Ford Truck Enthusiasts).
Not going to tell you what I have narrowed it down to, so if anyone has any bright ideas, then please put them up. Don't want a "rod", but something original, sort of.
Must get the:
1. Colour perfect
2. Stance of the vehicle right
3. Wheels right (going to lower it a bit too)

Send the ideas along fellows.

Have found this site in USA who make what I thought was good seats to replace the bench

http://www.ford-trucks.com/lc/lc.ph...owprod.cfm?&DID=10&CATID=13&ObjectGroup_ID=29

http://www.ford-trucks.com/lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://www.guytoys.net/fullseats.htm

I do need a 40-20-40 seat as there will be 3 of us in there some times.

Anyone know of any other seat "sites" especially if the sell to o'seas customers. Can't find a good range of them over here, and believe me, I have tried.

I am seeking ideas, so if the guy down the road has a nice one, then tell me about it, or send s snap.
Cheers
Phillip

Don't they salt your roads? All my trucks get extra ventilation holes after they are that old.

Jinx

Pop passed down his '68 Ranger to me last month so I wanna here more on this resto! ;)

Constructive suggestions?...

I kinda like the stance on yours now. Looks beefy. Looks like you've taken of those tie-downs off the side of the bed... that would have been the first thing I would have suggested. :D As far as the paint goes, well, if you lived in the South (USA) you could call her done right now! :D Any additional paint's up to you. Nice opportunity to match the boat though. (unless you boat's ugly) in which case I'd stop now and primer the boat to match. :D

Lookin good. Keep it up! And keep the pics coming!

spots

Re: F100 - progress to date - 3 photos

jinx: only a couple of pin-holes of rust. Quite a few bumps/knocks, so has taken a bit of straightening.Have spent 10 full days on it so far.
All the outside was finished today, so left with inside the cab, under the bonnet, and back of cab when we take deck off.
Am looking around for a panel-beater to check it all over and tidy up anything we have missed.

CN Spots: yep, tie-downs gone.
Waiting for prices on chrome/moldings. This one has none. Depending on the prices, as to what direction I will go re paint and finished look. I will keep the photos coming.

Rubber....Have considered both colours.
Black may be a bit hard to keep clean and always looking good. Has to have plenty of chrome moldings to break it up, otherwise i feel it will look tooo much.
Red....well that's my favourite....looks good on anything......always stands out in the crowd.

At the moment I am trying to get pictures of old trucks done in 2-tone, using that cream/off white with the pastel types blues or red (but not brown/fawn/green). I seem to recall most manufacturers used these colours from around 1956 on eg, I seem to recall one of my brothers 56-57 Chev (car) in this type of colour.

Does anyone have pictures to give me ideas.?

40/20/40. Why not? I need 2 big seats, and will carry the little fellow in the middle when we all go out. Seemed like the right way to go. looks good, seats everyone, has consul under centre seat. Can use 2 Explorer buckets but limits me to 2 pers. What don't you like about them?

Any more ideas.
Keep them coming.
Cheers
Phillip

Since you mentioned having a litle guy... now I am all for the 40/20/40. I have a quadcab with the 40/20/40 up front. My sons car seat is in the back. Some times on saturday mornings we go get breakfast burritos and eat them at the park and my son will sit up front between momma and me. The consle under the "20" is also very handy!

Re: F100 - progress to date - 3 photos

Thanks for that Rubberfrog. I wondered if the look of 40/20/40 looked 'no good' in these trucks.
Now for the questions.
Did you add yours or did it come with your truck when 'new'. I have only found 2 sites in USA who sell them, and if my memory serve me correctly, neither will sell to overseas customers. Any suggestions to other suppliers?
Aldo, being in the auto trade, do you know of anyone down here selling them. My searchs only bought up one site and they were about $1,000 over priced, and the range was zilch, and you couldn't get them for a 'specfic truck'.
As foor the bull-bars and the spoties, I think they may have to go. Havn't decided on the final 'look' but don't think they will be part of it.
CN Spots: try the web site Ford Enthusiast http://www.ford-trucks.com/
I have spent many hours there searching their Gallaries. there is a guy there called Mil1ion and he comes from Canada and is an incredible wealth of information. Has all the old brochures and is only too happy to help. Tell him Phillip03 from Brisbane recommended you...he will be chuffed.
Go to autocolourlibrary.com and you will be able to find all the paint colours and their codes for most vehicles ever made.
How's that.
Cheers
Phillip

Sorry Phil, can't help with the seats. The only thing I can think of is custom built - but that'll cost $$$$$$.

Here is one idea I had for a colour schem if I wanted do it in modern colours Not sure how it would look on a truck with "square" features as opposed to a drop-style nose. I have got it tucked in the back of the brain for the meantime.
Cheers
Phillip
