It won't. But anyway, that is a discussion that has been had here over and over. There are well-reasoned differences of opinion as to whether one is necessary or not.

As far as the center light being required by DOT, yes it is required on any trailer that is wider than 80 inches, but the likelyhood of you getting pulled over for not having a center light is slim at best imo. I have removed these lights on probably 5 different trailers, especially my dump trailers because they get tore up easily. Never have had an issue even when pulled over from law enforcement. But I make sure my outer two lights are always working and carry spar bulbs as well and have additional lighting usually.

Op, your call, but probably not going to be an issue if you remove it.
