Hi all;
I did considerable work replacing stringers, deck, etc last winter.
Today I hooked up my engine for a test and discovered that my fuel filler hose is now about 6 inches too short. Also, the last foot or so is a bit worn looking, although the part of it that was inside the bulkhead looks good.
I have about a five foot section of brand new hose bought for another boat that I didn't use. I also have a foot long section of aluminum tubing I can cut a splice from.
Is it permissible to cut off the bad filler hose and use the new hose plus a splice to extend it, assuming I double hose clamp each side?
Or do I need to purchase 10 feet of new filler hose at $18 a foot?
Thanks,
Erik
PS: My block did NOT crack this winter, after my first winterizing job. Many thanks to all the folks here who offered advice to my working on it.
